I would still like this feature...
Especially since Windows 7 the ntbackup workaround is not available...

Re: Copy open files using Volume Shadow copy Service
Yes, I was referring to that topic :) And you are right, Volume Shadow Copy Service requires admin rights to create shadow copy. Technically (I believe) Local System, Administrator, Network Service, Local Service have sufficient access rights. (on 2008 server additional users can be trusted with the...

Copy open files using Volume Shadow copy Service
Hi everyone I really love FAR manager and I use it all the time. So first of all thanks to all the developers. I was thinking about file/folder synchronization and what would it need to handle (symbolic links, hard links, ACLs, attributes, NTFS encrypted files, open files, network shares... ) Then I...

Preserve hard links while copying
It would be nice to have the option for a copy to preserve hard links. 1/ A folder copy to the same ntfs volume could create hard links for files that already have more than 1 hard link. (thoug this option is less interresting for me) 2/ Copy of folders to a different ntfs volume could preserve link...

Find files based on total number of hard links
Currently in Far there is no way of searching for files which have more than 1 hard link? <alt>+F7 -> Filters has no options for that. It would be nice to have an option to filter by number of hard links, much like file size. If someone is in much need for finding duplicate hard links, for now I sug...

Re: Highlighting (coloring) hard links possible?
Far 2 shows all hard links to a file in the top drop-down list in the file's Attributes dialog ( CtrlA ). Thanks for the info, but I must be stupid, because I cannot get it to work. It displays hard links (2) in a greyed out box, but it's not dropping out. I tried F1, but it does not say much. In o...

Re: Highlighting (coloring) hard links possible?
So I'm guessing in Far there is no way of searching for files which have more than 1 hard link, right? I mean in <alt>+F7 -> Filters has no options for that (unless i missed it somehow). I want to copy part of a drive (volume) that has hard links (and directory junctions) to another hdd. If I'm not ...
