Build 5888 seen as trojan
Windows 10 defender reports downloaded x86 version of build 5888 as trojan. I guess it is a false positive, but maybe not?

Folder clone/sync macro or plugin?
Thanks to all!
DirSync3 seems to do the job.
HaRT: I did some re/search before posting, but apparently not decent enough

Folder clone/sync macro or plugin?
Is there a macro or a plugin that would allow easy folder cloning/synchronization? Imagine a backup copy of some folder tree on external drive. Every now and then I'd like to refresh/update the backup, i.e. copy files that are new or modified in source folders while on the target side remove files t...

Big thanks!
Now, can you put that text (and keep it updated on the same level) in some text file for all future distributions? That was my suggestion...

A second changelog
I've just upgraded my Far3 installation by few hundred builds and I discovered a missing 'feature': a changelog with user visible changes. I did the update because most likely there are numerous bug fixes since my previous (build 3000) installation and possibly some new features... but I don't know ...

Re: Error parsing macro
Thanks for hint, but it was easier to simply delete macros.db from the profile folder and re-import. I use a couple of macros shipped with FAR and only two of my own: it turns out that it was enough to replace xxx in "macro area" with Keys('xxx') in .farconfig files.

Error parsing macro
I've upgraded from FAR3.0 build 2728 to stable 2942 and I get a number of errors when FAR starts: 'Error parsing macro'. Apparently some macro-related internals have been changed. Any way to import/convert older profile to the newer build?
Any help appreciated.

Re: arclite - 7-Zip backed plug-in for handling archives
Thanks, but I didn't like it. Now I run FAR2 and FAR3 in parallel, FAR3 mostly, and see if I can live with arclite. Maybe it is time to re-pack my old archives to .7z?...HaRT wrote:Look for NewArc in the rest of this forum.

Re: FAR3 borders
How can I fix bad borders? In FAR2 borders were OK Here is the .farconfig file I've made from registry data from FAR2: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <farconfig> <generalconfig> <!-- change some frame characters so it looks OK with CP 852 --> <setting key="System&q...

Re: arclite - 7-Zip backed plug-in for handling archives
chupakabra: I know, I use MultiArc with FAR2, the question is about FAR3: will MultiArc work seamlessly with it? Andrey: I know my comment was a bit sarcastic... I like and use .7z format more and more myself. My "complaint" was about a limited number of formats that ArcLite supports compa...

Re: arclite - 7-Zip backed plug-in for handling archives
Is there a way to configure arclite to use external programs to read/create other archive types (e.g. create .RAR)? If not, is there a MultiArc version for FAR3? If not, is there a arclite alternative for FAR3? If not, then I guess FAR ("File and ARchive manager") should be renamed to &quo...

Re: arclite vs MultiArc
Thanks for help!
I actually tried installing both of them, but I did not find the "Options --> Plugins manager settings".
I always knew that FAR is the best and most configurable file manager, but it is nice to have that opinion re-confirmed every now and then

Re: arclite vs MultiArc
Ok, so arclite is better for 'out-of-the-box' support of many archive types, but if I have external programs installed anyway, then MultiArc offers more features (creation of other archive types, usage of custom archivers, etc.) Thanks for clarification! Any chance to mix the best of both? Install t...

arclite vs MultiArc
I've noticed a change of default archive handling plugin in latest stable build of FAR (1777). There were probably some good reasons behind that decision. 1. Is there somewhere some brief comparison what is better/worse in arclite as compared to MultiArc? 2. In MultiArc I have used a possibility to ...
