Does FarManager copy with checksum verification?

You want to talk about Far Manager, but don't know where to turn?

Does FarManager copy with checksum verification?

Post by jack_bridges »

I was wondering if a there is a way to copy and vertify that the copy was identical by doing preferably the fastest implementation of a recursive checksum across the 2 directories. At the moment I am doing a md5deep on both directories, matching md5s on the destination to the set of md5s on the source. This technically isn't even an logically correct implementation of verification. I suppose I could do something like a rsync dry-run.

In anycase, does FarManager at the moment support this functionality.

No, it does not.
You can create a wish ticket on the bug tracker (but IMHO the chances for adding this feature are not very high).

Maybe try 3rd party copy/move software, I personally use TeraCopy and I am happy with its verification.
