Quick filter
Quick filter
Hello to everyone, I'm new here,
Is it possible in FAR to quickly define filters without having to add them to the Filters menu,
like in Double Commander?
I mean, say you want to show all files except *.md5, you press for example Alt+F, a small popup menu appears
(in the same manner as when you press Alt+[A-Z] and Search popup appears) and lets you define
a quick filter such as:
-*.md5 or
-*.md5 -*.sha1
etc.

Re: Quick filter
There's a FAR1 plugin PanelFilter which might still work in FAR3 (not its accompanying macros though). The latest version of that plugin is 1.5.

Aren't it there out of the box?DanielK wrote:Is it possible in FAR to quickly define filters without having to add them to the Filters menu,
Extensions filters are already predefined, you have not define them explicitly.
All you need is select file extension (in filters list) and press + or - (then confirm by Enter)

I do not know what he may want, but I see example from first post:
Such basic usage does not require any extra macros or pluginsDanielK wrote:-*.md5 or
-*.md5 -*.sha1
etc.

Re: Quick filter
Far manager does not support your case out-of-the-box.
But it does support sample case from title post.
That's all I wanted to say.

One more ready to use macro was posted here: http://forum.farmanager.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7675
I used to try it a long ago and as I remember it works, despite of ugly code.
Edit: here is better implemenation http://forum.farmanager.com/viewtopic.p ... 46#p126876
