Hello!
My question: how can I set the default directory for Far Manager.
If I run Far, I would like to see always this directory (eg. C:\work) as default.
Thanks!

If you use a shortcut (*.lnk) to start Far you can change the default work directory in the shortcuts properties.molngab wrote:My question: how can I set the default directory for Far Manager.

but if you use [x] Auto save setup - work directory in the shortcuts properties will be ignored: FAR will take them from autosave.jonib wrote:If you use a shortcut (*.lnk) to start Far you can change the default work directory in the shortcuts properties.

Hmm, was this changed at some point? as I at least some time ago needed to blank the work directory or one of the file panels would default to the Far install directory.wolf wrote:but if you use [x] Auto save setup - work directory in the shortcuts properties will be ignored: FAR will take them from autosave.

“skyrail wrote: far local_dir ftp://host/remote_dir
far.exe Active\panel\path Passive\panel\path
” — it does exactly what you ask for, it's just that your active panel is obviously the left one. To change that, make the right panel active and save configuration.Фар есть инструмент, а не нянька. © 2009 DrKnS
