How do I rename folders that have illegal characters?

Let's not be too hard on him. First, he can't defend himself anymore, and second, it is a fact that FAR is very unfriendly to new users. It's a tool for people who use it daily for most of their work and it's easy for a beginner to get lost. Telling them to study the manual doesn't really help if th...

How do I rename folders that have illegal characters?

Move the cursor to the name, press SHIFT+F6, edit, pres ENTER. FAR can handle the ending dot easily.

InnoSetup module for Observer

At a glance, the modification seems simple enough. However, I am reluctant to do that until the new version of Observer is released, for fear of confusing the users.

Keep new window open after execution of a command with Shift-Enter

Well, sure. Because when Start encounters the quote, it says, "Oh, a title for the window! But where the heck is the command line?" That's why you need to use start "whatever" "path" - so that the first quoted string is considered the title and the second is considered the path.

DirSync3 — Synchronize Directories

Version 1.03 Completely rewritten the underlying framework for my FAR plugins. As a result it will be much easier to maintain the plugin, but it is possible (likely) that in the short term, some new bugs will manifest. Support for building the plugin using Delphi versions up to 10.3 Rio. Fixed reme...

Version 0.03 If a selection is active when you open the plugin, it will constitute the initial content of the search editbox. If no selection is active when you open the plugin, but the cursor is positioned on a word (numbers, letters, underscore, codes over 127) which can be found as an existing C...

PlugRing filesize limitations

Hmm, still getting a 413, even with a file that is only 1.5 MB. That makes it impossible to upload sources to my plugins to the Plugring. Later, it may become impossible to upload plugins themselves.

Version 1.04 Support for "cd:-": Every time a current folder is changed using this plugin (i.e. by "cd:xxx" or by pressing ENTER in the plugin's panel), the previous location gets saved to a memory variable. "cd:-" will then return to this saved location. The save is done even with "cd:-" itself, m...

Sounds easy enough to do. I will need to find some time to do it, though.

Not sure how to deal with multiple instances, though.

InnoSetup module for Observer

Hmm. I may end up doing just that, but only as a last resort. I would much prefer to convert the strings during read so that the "native" version reflects the Delphi used for the compilation. Then I could convert the native version back to whatever the user requires.

InnoSetup module for Observer

Given the differences in .isl files, my guess is some uninitialized variable in UTF8 encode. Strange that there is no warning in Delphi, though, and more strange that there were no such reports in older Delphi versions - it could also be a bug in Delphi 10.3 Rio. We shall see.

InnoSetup module for Observer

The problem is, that correct BOM is exactly what I am getting from the module! I will need to check the work with non-ASCII characters, due to that difference in .isl files. Perhaps it is somehow related to your incorrect BOM, too. Or not. It will be difficult for me to verify because I am getting t...
