Unicode text file problem in Far 2.0 861 x86
I've been using Far 2 to edit some Unicode text files but the latest nightly build and some older versions don't support these specific files any more. Re: How to navigate to file faster?
You could open the FarEng.hlf for English help (or FarRus.hlf for Russian) in the editor and search it has some control codes but should be readable.senpost wrote:Is there any where I can find searchable help file? I don't bother you guys asking silly questions

Re: How to search for files faster in FAR manager!
jonib , you need to open plugin panel, ensure that MFT index mode is selected (this is default), OK, MFT index mode is on. use Far built-in search (Alt+F7). Search over entire volume should take a couple of seconds. Trying to search in different ways it don't seem to be that much faster, do I need ...

I've been meaning to test that plugin, and now I have, but I didn't find anything related to searching?chupakabra wrote:There is a plugin available that can do the same thing Everything does: NTFS File Information. 2 years ago I was searching for a faster way to search from FAR manager and found 2 programs here is my post in the old forum. Now that a free program I discovered some time ago, has added a command line version that is usable in FAR manager, the search program is " Everything " I see that...

Re: Move to higher directory and a few other questions
1. How do you move up the directory hierachy with a single keystroke, like the Back button in Windows Explorer? I don't want to scroll all the way to the top. In the "Far\Addons\Macros" directory there is a "BS.reg" file that makes the backspace key move up to the parent directo...
