how to set starting directory?

Post by jacek »

hello,

I use Far for many years on my Windows desktop, however there is one issue - it always starts in C:\Program Files\Far Manager

I tried to find out on google then on this forum what is the way to configure Far to start in home directory (like C:\Users\Jacek)
I found information about "Use home dir" in "Command line settings" but it only sets the home directory, Far still starts in C:\Program Files\Far Manager

Could you give me a tip how to set it correctly?

You have 2 options:
Option 1. Specify startup directories as command line parameters in your desktop shortcut properties.
Option 2. When Far is running set your desired directories on passive and active panels then press Shift+F9
These options are described in details in Far Manager help (F1).
