Powershell scroll disappears after exiting Far

Post by brettman »

Hi,
Thanks for releasing Far and all the plugins free. I am new to it, but quite like it so far.

I've noticed that PS scroll bar disappears after exiting Far. I've tried the edit->scroll menu, but this has no effect. To be clear, I'm entering Far from PS prompt (I added Far to path, so just typing 'far .' to load current dir), doing some work, then leaving far by typing 'exit' at the Far prompt. All seems ok, except that the scroll bar in PS window is now gone.

Using Far 2.0.1666 x86 with FarNet 4.3.34 and PowerShellFar 4.3.34.

Not a show stopper, but very irritating problem as I tend to use that scroll buffer a lot. Is there anything that can be done to fix that? Thanks!

Use /rc or /w switch when invoking far.

What I did about it. I created a file Farw.bat and put it into a directory included into the system path. It contains a single line:

Code: Select all

@Far.exe /w . %*
It assumes the Far.exe is also in the system path. It starts Far with active panel opened at the current directory (of calling PowerShell or Cmd) and passes other parameters in (if any). Scrollbars are enabled and do not disappear after exit.

Now when I am about to open Far from PowerShell or Cmd I just type farw.

by typing 'exit' at the Far prompt
F10 is the shortcut for exit.
