Problems with SMB

Post by Andrea »

Hi.

From one of the latest versions of FAR (about 1 month) problems arose with managing remote folders (my NAS) via SMB.
I state that these problems are not there if I use Windows Explorer and it wasn't there before.
  • If I try to delete a file on a folder remotely I get the error:

    Code: Select all

    Cannot delete the file <file_name>.
    Object is being opened in:
    Unknown (PID: 0)
    0x00000005 - Access denied.
  • If I try to change an attribute (example: hidden) on a file on a folder remotely I get the error:

    Code: Select all

    Cannot set attributes for <file_name>
    0x00000006 - Invalid Handle.
My current version of FAR is: 3.0.5706.0 x64
Thanks,

Andrea

Do these issues reproduce with older FAR versions? What authentication type is used with that NAS?

I tried the latest stable: 3.0.5700.0 x64.
  • The cancellation works fine.
  • Changing the attribute gives the following error, but clicking on "Skip" changes it:

Code: Select all

Cannot set owner for <file_name>
0x00000534 - No mapping between account names and security IDs was done (SID).
  • If copying a folder to SMB it gives me the following error, create the folder but block the copy process:

Code: Select all

Cannot create the folder <folder_name>
0x000000B7 - Cannot create a file if the file already exists.
I don't have an older version but until about 1 month ago everything worked.

Simply Username & Password, and the user is fully enabled for the folder.
