Wrong file sorting by name
Hi!
I believe I've found a bug with file sorting by name. How to reproduce:
1. Create and enter an empty directory.
2. Create new directories named i, j and y.
3. Make sure files are sorted by name (CTRL+F3).
4. Seems that y is trapped between i and j, which is wrong according to latin alphabet.

Re: Wrong file sorting by name
Really weird.
I have correct sorting with the same Far version.
What if you open Explorer? Is sorting correct there?

Ouch! Really, the Explorer shows the same issue. Probably a problem with some of my locale settings.
Sorry for taking your time.
PS: No, these are pure latin characters.

I'm curious which regional settings give this...drumsibumsi wrote:It was due to regional settings. How silly of me! facepalm2

Re: Wrong file sorting by name
It was Latvian using Windows 8. I don't remember if Windows 7 had this issue, since I've previously used Necromancer's DOS Navigator, which used plain Latin sorting. Now it seems that NDN has died with some irritating bugs and usability issues in it.
Anyway, FAR is stable and very usable. The only two things I'd been so much used to in NDN:
1. DEL key deletes file or directory. It was very hard to switch back to F8, so I've made a macro.
2. ESC key shows the output window. Again a macro for CTRL+O helped.
A million thanks for FAR Manager.

Re: Wrong file sorting by name
Well, may be I've missed something, but I've just tried the latest nightly build and both DEL and ESC keys didn't do anything... So, what did you mean by saying "out of the box"? How do I enable these "out of the box" macros?
