Far Manager is messy when I run it in my Vista

Post by Mark123me »

Hello,

Why Far Manager is messy when I run it in my Vista?
I have tried different versions, but all the same, messy!

You can see the Fig showing how messy it is:

Thanks a lot for any help!

For Chinese filename display in Far v3.0 I do the following:
- Use Consolas (or other true type) font for Far Manager shortcut: this is so you can display Chinese
- Far > Options > File panel mode > Full mode: untick Align file extensions.
- Options > Colors > Panel > Border: change foreground or background color to a color scheme that differs from Normal text.
- Options > Panel Settings: untick Highlight column separators
- Options > Interface settings: tick ClearType friendly redraw

Cool but unusable Far Manager

Post by m31317015 »

So this is what happened: Image (Ignore left side, I forgot how to not capture multi-screen)

:troll:
System: Windows 10
Font: Default
Size: 10*20
Active Screen Size: 1366*768
Far 3.0.4700 x64

P.S. First time running after installation works fine, tried disabling all plugins but nothing changes. Fullscreen CMD displays fine, only the GUI looks funky. :rtfm2:

Chinese/Japanies characters can be display artifact cause, but usually only in lines where it appears.
What is your system language and language for non unicode programs (you can find that in control panel) ?
Also show your system Ansi/OEM codepages (execute lua:=win,GetACP(),win.GetOEMCP() from far command line) ?
If it is possible please check behaviour on pre win10 systems (win7, win8.1) with the same settings.
And at least on your system with [x] Use legacy console (requires relaunch) checkbox active in the console window options. Comparision with previous far version also can be helpfull (for example far 2.0 from history page).
