Open far manager in a specific path

Post by quag »

Hello,

I am new to use far manager on Windows and there is a problem that I cannot find a solution with google.
If I am in a specific folder under windows explorer and I want to start far manager from this path directly,
I find a way to do it after adding the path of far.exe to the system path:
1. press ctrl + l to get into the address bar of windows explorer
2. enter: far .
This is pretty easy and quick but has a problem: if I want to make far manager fullscreen with alt + upper key, then the bottom line of
far manager will be occluded by the taskbar of windows. So I want to know if there is a way to solve this problem?
Or there is a more elegant way to go to a specific path in the clipboard with far manager?
Thanks in advancd!

The open path could be random so I don't want to set it as command line parameters in the shortcut properties of far manager.

quag, see %FarHome%\Addons\Shell\FARHere.inf - this adds to Winows Explorer's menu item Far Manager here

Hi buniak, thank you very much, it works for me with a minor modification for the path in the FarHere.inf :)

But it has the same problem as my old way: after maximizing the window of far manager, its bottom line is occluded by the windows taskbar, so I can not see the hints from far manager like this:

Could you give me any hint about this?

Sorry for my english…
A little question:
Right click on taskbar -> Taskbar settings -> Is option «Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode» off?
I get the same picture when this option is on and taskbar visible …

Try to turn off far WindowMode:
far:config in far command line, look for System.WindowMode, press Enter to change boolean value...
Shift+F9 to save changes.

For me it is off, but when I turn it on, then maximize the window of far manager it looks like this:

But your solution by turning System.WindowMode off solves this problem for both this taskbar option on or off. Thank you very much :)
