Windows 10 sallow colours

@DrKnS Excellent! Hadn't occured to me to check the nightlies. This was definitely the way to go about impllementing this. FAR is utilitarian by definition. It's there to get the job done and themeing it beyond the curated vanilla palette should 100% be opt-in. Love the changelog entry as well. Direct link to the ColorTool page on GitHub: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/t ... /ColorTool
It includes instructions and a link to the latest compiled release.

Windows 10 sallow colours

no solutions provided help. when I start FAR it has eye bleeding colors (mainly background)
  • if [Options/Colors/Palette/Classic palette] is checked then if I type nonsense command and run it colors reset to normal ones
  • if [Options/Colors/Palette/Classic palette] is not-checked then colors stay eye-bleeding no matter what I do
  • I did run ColorTool.exe and it has no effect on FAR it does change colors of CMD and PowerShell or if I close panels in FAR (then colors are as I select them)

So "Options/Colors/Palette/[x] Classic palette/OK/ShiftF9/OK/Restart Far" does not help?

It probably means that you accidentally changed a default background color of console window.
Right mouse click on a window title, select Properties, go to Colors tab, select Screen Background (should be selected by default actually) and change color to black (choose the first black square), click OK

Windows Terminal window doesn't have properties. I reset color scheme and it looks correct and is being used by CMD and PowerShell.
shortcut / colors / screen background is black.

one interesting observation:
  • if I start far using shortcut then colors are eye bleeding until I execute any command which hides / shows main panels
  • if I start far from CMD then it is okay from beginning.
