Hi
It seems like Far puts a hold or handle of folders if the user ever browses that folder and leaves that folder. I am unable to move or delete folders that I opened and left. Is there a way to disable this behavior?

Ideally it would be great if you provider more information, such as the Far Manager version and as well as OS. By default Far does not lock any folders or files.
Please try to run Far with no plugins and macros:
and check whether the issue is still there.

Hi
It is hard to replicate it like that because it doesn't happen always but please see this screenshot, it says Far is using the file it is trying to move. The cmd.exe must be itself to since the file isn't opened by any

By any chance:
- Isn't FAR started from a CMD instance rather than directly?
- Isn't the problematic directory the current directory in that CMD?
- Wasn't FAR permissions elevation required to enter the directory or to attempt deleting it?

FAR is started from CMD.exe with "far ." So I guess in a way CMD might still think it is in that directory. But when I move the folder in Far, I go one up.
FAR never asked for aan admin perssion in this particular case if I remember right.
