Often I need multiple instances of Far Manager, because only one pair of panels is not enough. Unfortunately, this clutters up the taskbar (despite grouping) and the appswitcher. I would like to be able to switch among several panel pairs using a keyboard hotkey (e.g. Ctrl+Tab).
I already looked through the available plugins: MultiPanels appears to be obsolete, never ported to x86-64; PanelTabs does not seem to be the one I need, I could not discover if I can switch panel tabs via keyboard shortcuts (everything in Russian, no English documentation), the tab numbers appear to be only decorative. Also I would prefer to switch the whole pair of panels to another content.
I guess if Far manager on its own does not provide it, and does not provide such a plugin either, I could try to use a tabbed consoles application and load a Far manager in each console tab of its window...

What are you use as a multiple tabs for switching between multiple Far instances? MultiPanels is obsolete, PanelTabs is obsolete, ConEmu have last release in year 2023... Windows Terminal is a painful solution, because it does not support change cursor shape for indicating insert/overwrite mode. Without a functional multitab solution will be Far soon unusable.

Tabbed window to switch between multiple panel pairs
ConEmu on Win11 sometimes jams for many seconds to a minute. Sometimes when copying to the clipboard, sometimes when using network drives, even though they are accessible. It is also significantly slow, for example, with editing large text files or with a panel with many files. When running directly Far without ConEmu or in the Windows Terminal, everything is fast. "Use Virtual Terminal for rendering", "Fullwidth-aware rendering" and "ClearType-friendly redraw" are all disabled.

The strange thing is that when "Use Virtual Terminal for rendering" is enabled, rendering via ConEmu and VPN connection is significantly slow. How can rendering be related to the type of network connection?
