arclite - 7-Zip backed plug-in for handling archives
arclite - 7-Zip backed plug-in for handling archives
arclite is the default plug-in for handling archives in Far2.
That's why it deserves its own thread in English part of the forum.

Re: arclite - 7-Zip backed plug-in for handling archives
If I select many archives, use Shift-F2 and confirm, then I'm getting later the same dialog for each archive, even though obviously I want to unpack them to the same place with same settings. It's really inconvenient. 7-zip alternative does not have this problem, but it's much worse in displaying progress, so I want to stay with arclite, also because it's kind of more "official" Far plugin. Can this behavior be changed somehow or is there any known workaround?

The answer to the same question in the Russian-language thread was to use the plugin menu instead of ShiftF2.przemoc wrote:If I select many archives, use Shift-F2 and confirm, then I'm getting later the same dialog for each archive, even though obviously I want to unpack them to the same place with same settings.

It works. Thanks, HaRT. Are there any plans to fix Shift-F2 in this regard? Or invoking extracting-related dialog per file in this method won't be changed for some reason?

As per author's answer, it's caused by the way Far communicates with archive plugins.przemoc wrote:Or invoking extracting-related dialog per file in this method won't be changed for some reason?

arclite: How to put the path of passive panel...
This is the question:
When extract an archive file (shift f2) the dialog put automatically the passive panel path (Excellent),
but when i add files to archive (shift f1) the dialog only put the name of file under cursor. Why ?
Will be great if the dialogs put like "extract (shift f2)" the passive panel path, so the files to archive
are in one panel and the result file archive is in the other panel.
Or any shortcut to put the passive panel path in the dialog?
Any help?
Thanks.

Ctrl-Shift-]
and a macro on ShiftF1 for the path to be inserted automatically.

Re: arclite - 7-Zip backed plug-in for handling archives
Hello, I have problem with compressing files. When I select them and press Shift+F1, arclite window is too big, so I cannot see bottom of it.

Either increase your console window size via its Properties|Layout (or via AltF9) or decrease the font size.

I really don't like arclite, so I put MultiArc back.

Or with the keyboard: CtrlF5, then arrows, then Enter.SlashNet wrote:Window may be draggable with the mouse.

How to prevent arclite from opening certain files?
If i press enter on a .doc file or an openoffice file, arclite would open them, instead of the application to edit them (word or openoffice)
How can i prevent this behavior?
I´ve tried adding *.odt,*.doc to the disable archive formats in the arclite configuration dialog, but the behavior persists.
EDIT: NVM. The option to use is "exclude files matching mask". My bad.
