VLC uses own internal decoders. You can use windows media player to check whether system can decode file or not.
PS LAV filters bit version (32/64 bit) must be the same as the Far you using (better way - install both 32 and 64 bit).

Finally! Got It.. To Make The plugin work you need to download the LAV filter (from here https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases) of your Far Manager Version, I was using the 64bit LAV Filter version but running the 32bit Far version!
Плагин требует MSVCR100.dll.
Hi, I really would like to check out this plugin, but I am getting message "Can't detect media format". I've been trying mp3, jpg, mkv .... still the same. I have MSVCR100.dll present on my computer. My Far Manager version is 3.0.4991 and plugin version is 1.4.7.0. My operating system is Windows 7 x64. Also tried to install LAV mentioned in earlier posts. Does anybody have an idea what is going on or how can I solve this?

OK, finally got it... Somehow I missed that part I should not run the plugin from the plugin menu. Everything is working now but when opening images, they are padded outside the visible area so I cannot see full picture.
I strongly advise you to use another plugins ( PictureView (Pictures), Review (Pictures;Videos), Really Quick Player (Audio), Audio Player (Audio) ), instead of this one.
I strongly advise to stay away from PictureView. Its implementation is ill-thought and leads to numerous glitches. If you run into any issue the author will start blaming your software or hardware. The plugin's topic is abound with complaints and the author's insufficiency.
